"Wow, the fish really do stink!" Jenna said and wrinkled her nose. She took out an orange and closed the fridge. She came over and sat down next to me on the couch. She was my personal assistant, my best friend, and one of the only people who could make me feel happy for real these days.
"Sorry" I laughed. "Maybe you should make the dinner tomorrow?"
"Totally" she smiled. The phone rang, and a picture of my manager, smiling at the camera, showed up at the display.
   "Rachel" i said.
"Oh, hi sweetie! Guess who is nominated to the IMA? You! Isn't that amazing?" She screamed in my ear. She really had to calm down some times. After all we knew this would come up sooner or later.
"Yeah... Amazing" I answered. The IMA. International music award. This was what I had wished for for four years, and now, when I got it, I felt nothing. Or, I was happy of course, but I wasn't very surprised.
The black Mercedes rolled in six a clock the next friday. Jenna had chosen my outfit. A black glittery dress with bare back, black pumps and some kind of complicated braid. I didn't feel very comfortable, but beautiful, and it was only for a night.
After very much trouble with the traffic, an incident with a dog, and a too long red carpet, I was finally inside. People was mingling all over the place, and I felt a little confused. A strange scent between parfume and smoke had been formed in the local, and it was pretty warm in there. Somehow, I came away from the others after less than five minutes. I walked around half paniced trying to find someone I knew. I saw Rachel's blue blazer, and started to walk over, but i collided with someone and got punched in my head.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry, I... Mia...?" I froze, because I knew that voice. Four years, but the voice still sounded the same. I looked up and saw him staring at me like I was a ghost, a very creepy one. I noticed that the hair looked different, and he looked older, but the eyes were the same. The calm, warm, brown eyes made me forget that it was four years since I saw him last time.
"A-Adam, hi..." I stammered. We just stood there for a moment, didn't know what to say. And then the time was up. Rachel came and told me it was time, and he walked away. I won the prize. I had prepared an excellent speak, but when I came up on stage I almost forgot it. A whole arena was watching me, and probably the whole world, but the only one i saw was Adam sitting in the front row. After the party there were people everywhere. I tried to find Adam, but he was the one who found me. He told me they were in a rush, but he gave me a post-it with a message.
The cafe across the street tomorrow 14:00
   Lets talk!
I came with the bus ten minutes early, I hated to be in a rush. I took a deep breath and walked over the street. Everything looked so much different from yesterday. I took one more breath, and opened the door to the cafe.

The cafe had a cozy feeling over it. All of the walls were just wooden planks, stopping one quarter up the walls with a pinkish floral wallpaper connected to them. I looked around the place. It didn't take long until i saw Adam, looking better than ever. I guess I should have been mad at him for leaving me at that point in my life. Although, I know it was my fault that he left. I just couldn't handle a relationship after the crash. In a way, I understood him.

He waved at me and I sat down at a chair opposite of him, letting the feeling of old times embrace me.
"Hi," he smiled. "How are you?"
"I'm okay, I guess. So you're, like, famous now?" I said, but got interrupted by a pretty waitress bringing Adam his coffee.
"Thanks," he said with his eyes locked in mine.
"Mia, how are you, really? I couldn't imagine how much pain is trapped inside you," Adam said and stroke me across my right arm.
Silently I swallowed my tears. A seemingly perpetual feeling of illness creeped up on me. I felt like throwing up. The loss of my family haunted me every day, and even though it was four years ago, I still can't think back to the moment without feeling empty.
   "I guess.. I'm ok," I lied.
The door to the cafe flew open and Adams eyes flew up. I looked towards the door and saw a girl. She had shoulder long blonde hair, and looked furious. Her eyes were locked at me. Adam didn't say anything, he seemed to be at a loss of words.
"What the hell, Adam?" she started screaming the sentence, but ended up sounding like a sad dog.
The girl ran out with tears in her eyes. Was that..? Had he gotten... a new..?
"I should go," I spoke loudly and heard my voice crack.
With fast steps I starting to walk towards the door as Adam got up from the chair.
"Mia, please! She wasn't... you just.." I turned back and looked at Adam.
"Don't," I whispered harshly as I felt my tears leaping out.

Rojkens

I shouldn't be upset at all, I knew something like this would happen. Every time I think I've reached some sort of happiness it gets torn away. With those thoughts I stormed out of the cafe, ignoring Adams calls.
I was so filled anger that I didn't notice the paparazzi until it was too late. There were at least ten of them, all asking questions and taking pictures. They were surrounding me, their bodies blocking me like a wall of brick.
Just as I started to get panicked a big man in a suit made his way trough the paparazzi.
"Mrs. Hall, come with me. My name is Stephan and I'm Adams personal bodyguard," the man said. At this point I didn't care whose bodyguard he was, as long as he took me away from the bloodsucking sharks that called them selfs the paparazzi.
As soon as we got in the limousine, that I assumed was Adams, the chauffeur started driving to the cafés back door. When Adam got in I was irritated at first but thankful that he helped me get away.
We had a long talk and he explained that he wasn't proud of the last four years and his actions. He said that the only thing he was trying to do was to forget about me but whatever he did he never could. The girl that walked in the cafe was sadly only one of his attempts to do so.
When I asked where we were heading he said it was a surprise. His smirk did not reassure me, at all.
It turned out that his surprise was bringing all of our friend, the past and present ones, to his bands mansion. The day was filled with laughter and sharing memories. But sharing memories around the bonfire wasn't the only thing we did. We created new ones. Together, as we always would. As I looked at my laughing friends and Adam I knew I made the right choice.
   I chose to stay.

We are going to write a fanfic. It will be a continuation of the movie "If I stay". Here's our idea.

Four years after the car crash, Mia is out of the depressing stage. Actually, she has become a really famous musician, playing the cello. She was nominated to win an award. Mia stumbles in to Adam at the IMA (international music awards). They talk awkwardly for a while, then decide to meet up at a cafe. While there, they talk about getting back together. A girl storms in. It's Adams kind-of girlfriend. Mia leaves in shock, but almost gets tackled by all the paparazzis outside. Adams bodyguard help her into the car. Adam comes too, and they drive together to Adams home while he tries to explain himself. He asks her to come in, and a bunch of his and her friends are in there. At that point she knew that she'd made the right choice.
